What Makes a Yamaha System Oustanding?

Yamaha Sound Meisters are experts in sound design. They can sense the subtle emotions expressed in every note and recreate the emotion in that sound with incredible realism where it almost feels like the artist is right beside you. Yamaha sound designers utilize some of the same techniques that are used in concert halls and theaters through Yamaha’s patented Digital Signal Processor (DSP) which features a tuning system optimized for in-vehicle audio.

Yamaha Speaker Technology

What makes a speaker a great speaker? The diaphragm – that narrow, flexible surface on the outside of the speaker that vibrates to provide sound. Yamaha uses ZYLON for the diaphragm in their signature NS-5000 speaker which inspired the development of a high-performance diaphragm created for Dynamic Sound Yamaha. The completed product was a reproduction of a live performance and an exceptional listening experience.

Soundscapes

When engineering the Outlander, a three-way speaker configuration was used to ensure that instruments in the middle-range were captured with amazing accuracy and turned towards the listeners. Tweeters and woofers designed for precision complete the soundscape.

Surround Sound

Outlander was also engineered with a 12-speaker system to provide a true surround sound experience with three 90 mm mid-range speakers housed in the dashboard, two 20 mm Tweeters housed in the corner panel of each front door next to the dashboard, two 6×9-inch Woofers in the front door side panels, two 160 mm Woofers in the rear door side panels, two 20 mm Tweeters in the upper door side panels of the rear doors and finally, a 200 mm Subwoofer in the side panel of the driver’s side in the cargo area.

Dual Amplifiers

There are also two amplifiers built into the Outlander’s sound system, one for low range sounds and another focused on mid/high range sounds to project clearer and more accurate sound quality. Fully digital transmission minimizes any degradation of the signal, and by increasing the wire diameter of the power supply and speaker harness, resistance is further reduced to better enhance the sound.

Noise Suppression

On the inner panel of the doors, installation holes have been sealed with resin to block any additional noise that comes behind the speakers. Damping and reinforcement materials have been included, giving the available Dynamic Sound Yamaha Ultimate sound a more powerful and more refined bass sound acquisition.
