A Strong Fourth Quarter for Mitsubishi to Celebrate 40 Years In The US

While the leadership team at Mitsubishi was excited to celebrate 40 years of doing business in the United States, it turned out that they had even more to celebrate. The numbers for the fourth quarter of 2021 revealed a massive increase over the previous year. Some still find it hard to believe that the sales increased 68.3% over the same time frame in 2021, but that was the case. Much of this enormous success is credited to the launch of the all-new 2022 Outlander.

The Outlander started the quarter strong with its best October ever, then stepped it up in December to set the record for the best month ever for this flagship vehicle. The Outlander recorded over 33,880 sales for the entire year, which is an almost unheard-of increase of nearly 25% from the previous year. This increase in Outlander sales accounted for just over 33% of Mitsubishi sales. It is also essential to understand that these numbers represent only the Outlander. The Outlander Sport sold over 34,000 units for an increase of over 18% from last year. And the Outlander PHEV sales reached 2,250 for impressive annual growth of over 14%.
