12 Moms of Christmas

When it comes to White Bear Mitsubishi, the two things we care about most are easily the community and the automotive industry, so when there was a chance to combine both, we had to jump on it. With the 12 Moms of Christmas event, we hope to help families in need by gifting away 12 cars to those who need them most. This event is sponsored by not only White Bear Mitsubishi, but also by our generous friends Apple Autos, Friendly Chevrolet, Gilleland Chevrolet, Miller Nissan, and The Bear Lot in Mounds View.

The Newgate School

We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the backbone of why this program was started. At Newgate School, mechanics are able to learn all the necessary skills to tackle hard jobs at the dealership, through a tuition-free program. This school is powered by you, the community, as they repair and refurbish eligible donated vehicles. These models work as their textbooks, as they’re able to explore each and every part of the vehicle in order to learn new techniques and skills. When the vehicle is ready for the road, they’re sold at auction where 100% of the revenue is funneled straight back into the school. If you want to make a tax-deductible donation, this program is helping to foster a new generation of bright and talented mechanics.

Wheels For Women

At Newgate School, they don’t only give back to prospective students, however, as they also created the Wheels for Women initiative. For forty years, they’ve been supplying mothers with vehicles so that they’re able to make sure their kids can get to school, doctor’s appointments, and more. Being a mother can be difficult, and saving up for a new vehicle isn’t always possible when you have to put your children above everything else. By giving back, the Newgate School not only makes sure that these mothers have an easier life, but that these children don’t have to worry about how they’ll make it to their next class. With over two million dollars worth of vehicles donated so far, this program is truly making a difference. That’s why we decided to put our thumb on the scale, making sure that even more vehicles can go out during Christmas.

A Real Present

When this program came to our attention, we immediately wanted to dive right in. That’s why with the help of the other Rydell Dealerships, over the years we’ve managed to help Newgate donate an additional 36 cars through our initiative, 12 Moms of Christmas. Every year, we organize a twelve-car giveaway, but with a twist. The trunk of each model will be stuffed to the brim with different presents so that Santa never fails to arrive on time.
