2025 Eclipse Cross vs. 2025 Corolla Cross

Compact crossovers have a lot to offer buyers. They provide a taller ride, more passenger space than a car, and versatility with a cargo area and capability to tow a small trailer in many instances. Two names that rise to the top of this segment are the 2025 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross and the Toyota Corolla Cross. Though they are far more similar than different, you will find some distinctions between these models.

Peace of Mind

Both the Eclipse Cross and the Corolla Cross offer multiple safety features and seat five. The 2025 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross makes 4WD standard while the Toyota crossover has front-wheel drive for the base trims. You’ll also enjoy more confidence in the Mitsubishi with its market-leading warranty. The Eclipse Cross is covered for five years or 60K miles compared to three years or 36K for the Toyota model. Both models offer a blind spot system to help you avoid accidents when trying to switch lanes. However, Mitsubishi adds the option of a Surround View Camera.

More Features

Automatic headlamps are standard on both trims along with Daytime Running Lights. However, the 2025 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross also makes fog lamps standard on all trims and integrated turn signals. Heated power side mirrors are standard on both models with power doors and windows. Toyota includes manual climate control on the base trim while Mitsubishi has an automatic system. HD Radio is also standard to expand your entertainment options.

Practical Considerations

Your passengers will be more comfortable in the Eclipse Cross with nearly five extra inches of legroom. You have almost nine inches more of hip room in the rear seats and three inches of shoulder room to better fit adults. Mitsubishi provides a higher ground clearance and slightly smaller turning diameter, making this crossover easy to navigate in all kinds of situations. Both models offer 1500 pounds of towing capacity but the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross provides slightly more cargo room inside the SUV. You’ll also travel longer without stopping to refuel with a 15.8-gallon fuel tank over the 12.4-gallon for the Toyota Corolla Cross.

Higher-end Features

As you move up in trims for both models, you get more features. Satellite radio is standard, which gives you more entertainment options. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also standard to allow you to see your phone information on the screen. The 2025 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross includes an Around View Camera to help you see your surroundings before you move. Both models have a version of Lane Keep Assist to help you stay in your lane as you drive. You also have the option of multiple trims for each crossover with one or two special editions, which come with their own unique look. The Toyota model has the Nightshade Edition while Mitsubishi includes the Black Edition and Ralliart.
