Mitsubishi's history begins over sixty years ago when it won the first entry into an international motorsports event all the way back in 1962, at the Macau Grand Prix. During that rally, the Mitsubishi 500 Super Deluxe even managed to set a track record. From there, the Colt F2000 Formula Racecar would win Mitsubishi Motor's sixth Grand Prix title in 1971, and their record only became more pristine as time went on. The Lancer 1600GSR would appear in 1973 and would make its mark as an iconic model, with the later iteration, the Lancer Evolution, winning several different World Rally Championship, track racing, and hill climb titles in 1992. The most recent model to dominate the course is the MiEV Evolution III, which not only won both first and second place in Pikes Peak International Hill Climb's EV Prototype division but also beat the previous record by more than thirty seconds. While these are some of Mitsubishi's most defining moments, it skips over the countless titles that they won in between the years with their expertly designed models.
